Show Details
The peculiar poetry of Dr Seuss' The Lorax is brought to life once again for the Old Vic's family Christmas show this year. Adapted for the stage by acclaimed Scottish playwright David Greig and directed by Max Webster, The Lorax blends puppetry, theatrical invention, songs and zany humour in a timely and vibrant festive production with a moral message that will speak to audiences of all ages.

Inspired by Dr. Seussís classic children's book, The Lorax is the tale of a greedy businessman named the Once-ler who embarks on a concerted deforestation effort after discovering he can make his fortune by cutting down Truffula trees to gather raw material to knit Thneeds. Enter the titular Lorax, a strange moustachioed and cantankerous critter who speaks for the trees and attempts to defend the forest and the creatures living within it.
