Show Details
The National Theatre's acclaimed production of Mark Haddon's bestselling 2003 novel The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time returns to the West End for a strictly limited season following a hugely successful UK and international tour.

Adapted for the stage by Olivier Award-winning playwright Simon Stephens and directed by Marianne Elliott, the award-winning co-director of War Horse, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time is both a murder mystery and a tale of personal discovery for a boy on the edges of society.

Fifteen year old Christopher Boone stands beside his neighbour Mrs Shears' dead dog Wellington. The large black poodle has been speared with a garden fork, it is seven minutes past midnight and Christopher is under suspicion.

Christopher suffers from Asperger's syndrome and has an extraordinary brain, exceptional at maths but ill-equipped to interpret everyday life. He has never ventured alone beyond the end of his road, he detests being touched and he distrusts strangers. Despite his fears and difficulties, Christopher decides to investigate the dog's death, recording each fact in the book he is writing to solve the mystery of who murdered Wellington. But his detective work, forbidden by his father, takes him on a frightening journey that turns his world upside down.

Please note babies and children under five will not be admitted.
