Actress and comedian Meera Syal follows in the footsteps of Strictly Come Dancing judge Craig Revel Horwood and comedian Miranda Hart as drunken harridan Miss Hannigan in Nikolai Foster's brand new production of Annie at the Piccadilly Theatre.
Set in New York City during the Great Depression of the 1930's, young orphan Annie lives a life of misery and drudgery in the Hudson Street Orphanage run by child-hating Miss Hannigan.
But Annie’s hopeless situation changes dramatically when she is chosen to spend Christmas with wealthy industrialist Oliver Warbucks at his mansion. As the feisty young girl begins to charm Warbucks and his staff, Miss Hannigan, her evil brother Rooster and a female accomplice hatch a devious plan to impersonate Annie's real parents and claim a fortune for themselves.
The show features all the catchy songs including It's the Hard Knock Life, You're Never Fully Dressed Without a Smile and the unforgettable Tomorrow.
